Case Introduction

The client is a leading domestic and international automotive supplies enterprise and a publicly listed company, primarily engaged in the production and operation of silicone sealants, glass adhesives, high-end engine oils, coolant, antifreeze, and glass protection products.

In March 2021, the client signed a contract with our company for the silicone sealant automatic preparation production line, establishing four production bases in Shanghai, Foshan, Changchun, and Qingdao. The project consists of two main parts: a powder conveying and metering system, and a glue mixing and automatic feeding system. The powder materials primarily include silicon dioxide, heavy calcium carbonate, mica, and calcium oxide, while the liquid materials mainly consist of silicone oil and resin. The key process flow involves feeding powder materials via an integrated bulk bag/small bag unpacking machine, then conveying them from the metering tank to the kneader for mixing, with an accuracy control requirement of 0.1%. Liquid materials are pumped from intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) to buffer tanks, and then transferred from the buffer tanks to the kneader.

Our company has provided end-to-end services throughout the project, including solution design, experimental testing, equipment development, production delivery, installation and commissioning, and after-sales maintenance.

During the material characteristic experiments, to address the issues of false agglomeration of heavy calcium powder and floating of silicon dioxide during conveying, SOPHON employed the patented technology—negative pressure intermittent circulation conveying. Through multiple tests, we successfully resolved the problems related to conveying and metering accuracy while significantly reducing manual intervention, thereby creating greater value for the client.
